My name is Richard Kelley, and I'm an ER doctor in Austin, Texas. At the end of my formal medical training, I realized that my weight had gotten out of hand. I was up to 210 pounds and out of shape. As I went on a journey to learn how to lose that weight and regain my fitness, I discovered what only a small percentage of the world truly understands...that the body can be sculpted and manipulated to reach an ideal of physical form, by implementing certain learn-able principles.
I developed a philosophy which I live by, called 'The Fitness Response.' and have taught these principles to 1000+ men and women over the years here in Austin. Personally, I've utilized to the principles in this book to reach and maintain a body composition rivaling my high school football days. At 57 years of age, the level of certainty and confidence that I derive from the principles taught in 'The Fitness Response' are validated for me daily. They can be for you, as well.

You can start by taking small, incremental steps to increase the amount of time you exercise per day, but rarely do you need to exercise more than 30 to 45 minutes per day, once you’re able to do so.
You do not ‘have to’ lift weights…however, your skeletal muscle plays an incredible role in defining how your body appears visually. Living The Fitness Response will show you how your muscle plays a major role in increasing your body’s ability to burn body-fat. Resistance training/weight-training is encouraged, but it is a process that this program will teach you and it can be easily learned.
You do not have to have a gym membership. In fact, you can accomplish both weight-loss and physical transformation by slowly acquiring a limited amount of equipment that should neither ‘break the bank,’ nor take up a lot of room in your home.
The Fitness Response is a process that we hope will become a part of your daily existence.
